A pre-Prairie Wright residence, included here to show his movement toward the Prairie style. The prominent gabled roof has flared ridgepoles, showing a Japanese influence. Some additions have been made to the house at the rear. The stable formerly included gardener’s quarters and was connected to the house by a trellis.

Photos of the homes exterior and interior reveal some significant issues with the property. The wide eaves covering the home’s front porch appears to be drooping significantly, while the interior lacks almost no original architectural details. Of course, there could be some beautiful hardwood under the dark red carpeting. Either way, this home is going to require some time, effort, and money to get it back into shape. And being a historic landmark, owners will have to work with the city on making changes or alterations.
