Waybee, 2015 Earthship in Taos, New Mexico

I have been fascinated by Earthships since the first time I saw one on TV. They are so creative, not only in their design, but in function. Each time I see a new one, it's interesting to see what new ideas they have come up with to improve the flow of off-grid living. This is the most modern in style I've seen to date. All the same concepts are there, but it's more stylish and less "hippy in the dessert jungle" which I think has made people shy away from them in the past.

I found two listings that are nearly identical with the same layout and similar features, so I'm not sure if they are the same Earthship, so I listed both. The other address is 14 Earthship Way and I blogged it here

I included videos below that look like they are for the two different listings. The house at 17 is called Waybee in the first video, but looks like the photos for number 14, hence the confusion. Maybe it is the same house and they have just updated it or maybe they built a second identical home since then. In any case, you can also find this style Earthship for rent, if you want to give off-grid living a try for a week.

LISTING DETAILS

They just keep getting better. Another amazing Earthship designed by renowned pioneer Mike Reynolds and built by the Earthship Biotecture team. This off grid green building has 2 generous size bedrooms, 2 unique bathrooms, copper counter tops in the kitchen and custom cabinets throughout. The interior greenhouse runs the length of the building with both a gray water planter and a new agua botanical system. This is a closed system that has a fish pond producing nutrient rich water that feeds another vegetable garden. Even in the garage which was designed to be an electric car charging station!!!! Set on a 1.76 acre lot in the Greater World Community which offers 340 acres of common land and borders the newly created National Monument.
