The Hurst-Pierrepont Estate is one of the most historic and architecturally significant properties in the area. Placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, this property was built in 1867. It was designed by one of the most successful and influential architects of the 19th century, A.J. Davis. The original owner, Edwards Pierrepont, was a lawyer and reformer who served as United States Attorney General and Minister to England. The estate includes nearly 20 acres.
