Simpson Dunlop Estate, 1896 Victorian in Oak Park, Illinois
There are many original details in this house with lots of potential for the attic and carriage house, but I so wish they would have installed a period style kitchen. The mid-century boomerang island, European style cabinets and bright green color looks so out of place. The rest of the modern touches I can forgive because much of it is furniture or paint which can be removed or it is a gentle mix with period with modern that works. What do you think?
