1937 Brick Colonial Revival, Powhatan Ave, Baltimore, Maryland

If this home looks familiar to you, you may remember it from an episode of House Hunters (Young Buyers Look for Historic Home in Baltimore). In the episode, the realtor mentions that this home is located in "Pill Hill", a neighborhood name given because of the number of doctors that took up residence there. She also mentions that this home was owned by the first African American surgeon to work in Baltimore. Intrigued by the story, the beautiful home and it's lakefront location, I searched the Internet for the listing. It took me a while to track it down, then I tried, to no avail, to find more history on this beautiful home. For now, I'll post the listing information and some photographs from it, but if you really want to see the details, look up the House Hunters episode. The photos really don't do this home justice. If anyone has anything to add regarding the history of the home, more photographs or information on the neighborhood, please leave a comment.
